Greetings from the East-
Brothers and Ladies,
I hope this message finds everyone healthy and happy. May is upon us and I have to say I have been having a fun year so far. I have always believed in working hard, and playing hard, and I believe we have done both this year. May and June will be busy as well and I look forward to seeing everyone at our meetings and events. I am posting events, announcements and plans on our South Denver #93 web site which can be found at www.southdenver93.org. Please look at the Lodge Plan link on the right side which will provide events and dates as well as some of our committee information.
We still have a rather large list of individuals who have not paid their annual dues. These dues are essential for keeping our Lodge operational and allow us to engage in the business of Masonry. If you have not paid your dues at this point please, please, please do so immediately. If you are not sure if you have paid your dues call me, or call the Lodge Secretary and we will let you know if you are on the delinquent dues list. If you are interested in making calls or visits to delinquent Brothers let the Secretary or I know and we will provide you with as much info as we have. Your dues are crucial to the function of our Lodge.
On June 2nd Bethel #40 in Honoring Master Masons and this is a great opportunity for us to support them in a major way. If possible please join us at our South Denver Temple at 6:55 PM for their event.
On June 12th it is our privilege to have our District Lecturer present a seminar from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Please join us as he shares his experience and wisdom with us.
Fraternally,
Dan Rivers

TRIADS
Triads are prominently employed in Lodges and Masonic writings. Why triads dominate over dyads or quartets of ideas may not conclusively be known, but speculative Masonry permits us ample opportunity to reflect on the reasons.
Threes appear prominently in the lecture of the winding stairs as we are shown the first three steps. They remind Fellowcrafts of the three degrees of Masonry and the three principal officers of the Worshipful Master, Senior, and Junior Wardens. We learn that a Lodge is not singular. A Lodge is not dual. It is plural with a minimum of three.
Similarly, displaying of the three Greater Lights and three lesser lights are central rituals for the opening and closing of the Lodge, As the furniture of the Lodge, they separately are symbols with meanings and lessons, but the fact that they are grouped into threes is not accidential.
The three lesser lights are named wisdom, strength, and beauty. They are said to help make Masons better men. Naturally, we could have added other virtues to the list: patience, fortitude, or peace making, but the fact that there is but three draws your attention.
The three Greater Lights parallel the three lesser lights. First displayed on the altar is the Holy Bible or scriptures from other religions. The Holy Bible is a collection of writings, histories, and moral teachings that provide guidance in our actions. They are sometimes known as wisdom literature; indeed, one of the books in the Apocrypha during the inter-testamental period is the Book of Wisdom. King Solomon is recalled as a wise king whose wisdom was demonstrated by the story of two women claimants for a baby. Furthermore that wisdom is symbolized atop the Worshipful Master by his hat, the crown of the ruler who is wise.
